On-Pin Guru4 Quick Start Guide
Quick Guide To Getting Started
01. The first thing you should do before using your Guru is double charge the battery. Plug it in overnight or for a good 7 or 8 hours, or until the green light comes on the unit. Then unplug the charger for a few minutes to allow it to reset, then plug in again and charge again.
02. While this is happening, you can get your computer ready to load the
course maps on your Guru. Go to www.on-pin.com and then
SUPPORT and GETTING STARTED. Download and install the
Microsoft utility you need depending on your version of Windows.

WIN XP you need Microsoft Activesync 4.5
WIN Vista & 7 Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Centre (WMDC)
*Note that WIN 7 often has WMDC already installed.
03. Download and install the Guru 4 utility software.
04. OK, if your Guru is all charged up, then you are now ready to SYNC for the first time and create your Guru account. Turn your Guru on switch on the back) and when it has finished starting up and is now on the programs screen then plug in the USB cable to your Guru and your computer.
05. Allow Windows to recognize the device and finish installing the drivers. The first time this may take up to 5 minutes depending on your computer. Once ready, you should hear a noise and MS Activesync or WMDC will now be “connected”.
06. Start the software on your computer. The ID# of your Guru should now automatically fill in the Guru 4 utility boxes provided. A pop-up window will open, asking you to enter an email and password.

NOTE: The first time that you connect you can enter any email and password that you want. This then creates your Guru account that is tied to the
ID# of your Guru. After the first time, you must enter exactly the same email and password, otherwise you will get an “Access Denied” error.

If you forget your password, we cannot tell you what your password is. If you send an email to support@on-pin.com with your account email address and the ID# of your Guru then we can reset your password and will send you an email (usually within 24 hours) with your new password.
07. Once you have entered your email and password, then click on SYNC on the utility software. The first time you will receive 5 sample course maps from On-Pin.
08. Now leave your Guru connected and open a separate window with Internet Explorer or any other browser of your choice. Go to www.on-pin.com and MY GURU LOGIN. Enter your account email and password that you have now created.
09. You can now see your online Course List. You can login anytime to add or delete courses from your Course List. Remember that your Guru hold up to 200 course maps at a time. At the top of the page click on “to Add courses to this device click here”. You can now select the courses that you want on your course list from over 22,000 courses we have mapped globally.

NOTE: There are two types of course map;
- standard maps which gives you distances to front, back and centre of greens, including the Smart Green and Drag the Flag functionality, and distances to major hazards.

- AerVu maps which in addition to the standard features gives you an aerial view of the hole that you are playing and allow you to drag the cursor for the accurate distance to any feature shown.

On-Pin provides new users with credits to select one complimentary AerVu map. Additional AerVu map credits may be purchased through the online shop.
10.. Now that you have added courses to your online course list, go back to your Guru utility software on you computer and click on SYNC. Whatever courses are on your course list will now be downloaded onto your Guru.

You are now ready to hit the links! Enjoy your Guru 4.
